While around the world people have their personal preference of wine, be it a big red, an oaky chardonnay or a fruity Sauvignon Blanc, few can argue Champagne is the most iconic of them all. While perhaps not an everyday drink for some it holds a significant place on the world wine stage as well as on restaurant and bar menus and of course taking up shelves & shelves at retails stores – especially from September to December! With this in mind Crush has been searching for Champagne to add to our portfolio that marries in perfectly with the Portfolio and Crush Family. And so we are proud to introduce; Champagne Boizel.
Taking up pride of place on the prestigious Ave De Champagne, the Boizel maison stands tall. Now in the hands of the 6th Generation of the Boizel Family, the house was established in 1834. From day one the house not only owned crus in Avize, Ay and Etoges, but established long terms relationships with the Crus and Grand Crus of the region to ensure the quality and standard of their spectacular champagnes.
There are 4 champagnes in the range. The House Ambassador, the Brut Reserve is pinot noir dominant and spends a minimum of 3 years on lees and consists of a minimum of 30% reserve wines. The NV Rose, which is 8% Pinot Noir vinified in red wine is fresh and lively, the 2004 Grand Vintage which has 10 years on lees and is a true expression of the vintage, and the jewel in the crown; The Joyau de France. With 15 years on lees it combines both elegance and power and expresses the absolute best of the Champagne region.
Evelyn Boizel, Winemaker and 6th generation caretaker of Maison Boizer shared her thoughts “We are very pleased to start our partnership with a young and dynamic family company like Crush Fine wines. Since 1834 and six generations our family has been dedicated to the elaboration of the finest Champagnes and we look forward to share them with wine lovers in Australia. “
Crush is absolutely thrilled to welcome this family owned brand, rich in tradition, history and an unmatched passion for Champagne into our family.
