Reschke wines have acquired an outstanding name or quality.
Burke Reschke is the fourth generation of his family to work the famous Terra Rossa soil of the Coonawarra. But he is the first Reschke to use the family’s rich red earth estate to produce some of the world’s most sought after grapes, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon.
Reschke’s distinctive Bull Logo reflects the family’s early history operating a prime Hereford stud. And it marks the family’s uncompromising dedication to quality.
Burke began developing the 400 hectare Reschke vineyard in 1989. The resulting fruit was of exceptional quality and was in demand throughout the nineties for some of the regions icon brands.
The first Reschke wine label – Empyrean – was produced from the estate’s premium Cabernet Sauvignon parcels. Empyrean continues to evolve as an outstanding wine with a rich mix of blackcurrant and cedar notes and has received high praise.
The Reschke commitment to quality flows through to the winemaking with the highly respected Peter Douglas passionately crafting the wines. Peter spent 16 vintages as Chief Winemaker for Wynns Coonawarra followed by several vintages in Bordeaux and Napa.
